Lets Talk Curry / Re: I did it

Good on you BW, Just try and have a bit of self restraint.
I too have only recently acheived results that reached beyond my expectations.
The problem I have now is keeping my hands off the base as I've started to add it to everything and nearly used up my whole batch in a week. ;D

Yesterday they gave me a 1kg pack of uncoooked sausages (approx 20) left over from the pub barbecue.
I made a sausage casserole and then lost control and added a few ladles of base and Bombay potatoes to it and poplished the lot off today...
Be Strong...  :)

Now this may seem a bit silly but sometimes I just can't help myself regarding the occasional experiment...

A few months ago I got myself a Prestige highdome pressure cooker, 5L capacity and operates at 12psi. I think I payed around

Curry Base Chat / Re: Variations?
May 12, 2012, 06:43 PM
Thanks,
There are so many combinations out there and even the people who are well into this seem to be on the chase for the perfect curry.

Sorry for so many questions but I have over the years tried my hand here and there with varying amount of success.
I have CBMs book and C2go and finally come out with a few things I've been quite proud of.
The temptation after reading through the posts on here to try other variations is strong but I don't want to run before I can walk and get all disillusioned again coz I'm not getting the results.

For the time being I will concentrate on what little I know before getting too over enthusiastic.
Still a good few tips I can pick up on mind but a little at a time.
Thanks for your reply.

Curry Base Chat / Variations?
May 12, 2012, 02:23 PM
I can well imagine this question has been asked time and time again but can the various bases people post on here be interchanged substituted with another persons mix.

I can well understand that the BIRs would not dare consider this but I'm wondering if the people on this site experiment this way.

Also would the base with it's original mix be suitable for the main dish of someone Else's menu, if you see what I mean?? :-\

Thanks for the offer Mark and it would be more fun I admit.
In all honesty my other half still has the hump with me for not growing some seeds she got for me last summer which still happen to be stuck in the cupboard, I can't even think what they are now... I just dont get round to these things!

They seem easy enough to get online so I will be waiting in suspence for my delivery!

Yes it was Julian's Vindaloo from what I can recall.
He seemed to speak of them as one of the secrets of making the vindaloo a cut above the rest.
That obviously a matter of opnion but I would like to give it a try.
