Lets Talk Curry / Re: Forum keeps going offline

Guys,

What we actually need is virtual private server (VPS), this will give us much bigger dedicated  space and allow pictures and videos to be uploaded directly to the site, rather than hosted elsewhere.

I guess the site it just getting too big for shared hosting anymore.
The one I would look at is the VPS lite (?99 per year) which has 25GB or space.  At the moment we are 2GB and way over the allocated space according to my stats.

Link to VPS

If you intend to donate please put in the message 'Server Space' then when we have ?100 quid ill sort it.  I already use these guys to host the site so they should be able to transition the site swifty with minimal downtime.

Hi All,

I tried this recipe (Kid Curry's Madras - with no base!) at the following link.
Suprising came out very nice and moorish.  The big chef's spoon of puree makes all the difference with the spices.

Recipe
OK!
First take a small onion and grate
2 large clove garlic grated
1 piece of ginger grated (about same amount as garlic)
1/4 chef's spoon salt
1/2 chef's spoon spice mix
1/3 chef's spoon chili powder
1/3 of a chef's spoon puree
1 chef's spoon veg oil
1 restaurant metal curry bowl of water 1/2 full
1 fillet chicken

fry oil with garlic and ginger stirring constantly 2Min's
add onion and salt fry 5 Min's(slowly)
add spices fry a little then add puree, fry some more.
add raw chicken, fry for 1 min

Then add water (remember the raw chicken produces water, so golden rule, you can add but you can't take away).

Cook on low/medium till chicken is cooked
Garnish with fresh coriander a 2 quarters of fresh tomato
The use of lemon was not preferred by the chef!

I always order a Garlic Chili Chicken Balti now when going to the takeway.  The Garlic really imparts a nutty flavour into the curry.

People should also check out a Galic Chicken Tikka Madras, well worth a go next time in the curry house.

Even after all this time and cooking at home I still love ordering a takeaway.  i end up getting excited at the prospect.  Although these days i need 2 curries just to ease the craving.  2 curries lasts me two days by the way and i have no issues eating it cold in the morning.

Cheers Guys.

Lets Talk Curry / Back In The Game

 :D
I have been out of the curry Game for a while now, focusing on Thai food and loving every minute of it.
However I went for a curry in Bournemouth over the weekend whilst down visiting and ordered a Garlic Chilli Chicken, which was amazing and has sparked me to try a new base and get back into the curry game with a passion.

I made Razor?s base last night

Very impressed with this.  A good Moorish taste, subtle and with a great colour.  This has all the requirements of a great building block for making a curry.

I will be trying the Garlic Chilli Chicken recipe in the ?House Specialities? section this weekend and will post up some pics and stuff.

Will also get a pic of the base an upload tonight.

Im back in the game

All,

For those not familiar with this, we choose recipes from the site then members cook all recipes and give them marks out of 10 in 4 different areas.

-Taste
-Texture
-Cheapness
-Ease to make.

In all cases the higher the score the better.
This will help rank the best recipes on the site.

Please ensure where possible you take photos and embedd in the posts.
In addition please provide a link back to the recipe you are testing
