You have stated a few things you think could be improved ......It would be interesting if you gave us an insight into Your Curry Base I'm sure a recipe would be greatly appreciated by all ::)
Or are you also part of the Indian Secret Society  :-X

Yep Most Definitely make your own Garam Massala as merry has already said the KD recipe is good thats the one I use good luck.

That's it Mick
Next time you see it buy it it'll give your Curry a lovely flavour plus the fact you will need it if your going to make your own Garam massala (highly advisable) leave the ready made Garram Massala where it is on the shelf !
The Cassia Bark you will see it usually in a green colour plastic bag ok ?
