Has anyone tried freezing the leaves themselves?  I have done this with curry leaves which works, but wonder if methi leaves would stand up to freezing, as when I buy a bunch I always have too much.

Thanks Alchemist,

I presume you mean by 'quick wash' you mean with just water, and wipe clean/dry. I'm wary of buying a cast iron korai in case it rusts... Still though I want the smooth surface.

Not had any signs of rusting so far.  It's a top bit of kit!

Although I've yet to go, the Aargrah Midpoint at Pudsey just outside of Leeds is well regarded.  It's won regional curry awards and friends who have had weddings and meals there think its top notch.

Lets Talk Curry / Re: who wants to meet for a curry ?

I started a similar thread a few months back suggesting the Manchester curry mile, a couple of people were up for it, but I didn't get around to arranging anything.

Still up for it, especially if we can get access to the kitchen and see an expert at work!

Lets Talk Curry / Mustard oil
August 13, 2013, 04:26 PM
Went down to my local Asian grocers today to get some.  They had a small bottle in their medicinal section and laughed when I said I was buying it for cooking as this was a hair tonic, and pointed me in the direction of a huge tin on the stuff that was for cooking.

So, I ended spending loads on the big tin, which is funny because I have bought the other stuff before and cooked with it!

Question is, what's the difference?  Both said they contained only pure mustard oil.

I'd be happy with that sight on opening my TA carton  :)

Lea and perrins sounds an interesting addition that I might try some time

Waiting for this ebook is almost as frustrating as waiting for a woman to get ready to go out!  Lets hope what finally comes down the stairs ain't a pig wearing lipstick and high heals!

I'm sure Chris's ebook won't please everyone, as you can't please all of the people all of the time, but will certainly generate loads more heated debate.
