Rogan Josh / Re: Rogan Josh by Razor

So I tried this rogan josh with lamb at the weekend and also ChrisWG's chicken roshney.

The rogan josh initially got a 7/8 out of 10 as i was getting the aromatic flavours buit they were not blending well.  I had the rest the next day and what a difference.  the flavours blended nicely to give a full rounded combination of flavours.  I hate to say it razor but it might be better than my recipe for R.J :o  Hats off to you razor!!!!!  Definitley a curry i would recommend cooking one day and eating the next

FYI the roshney was also very nice, a strong 8/9 out of 10.

Cheers

wish they had the same effect on my wife as they do mrs coogan ;D  I just get complaints about the mess afterwards!!!!

I like the group tests as the give me a direct side by side comparison.  If i make them different weeks then I tend to forget exactly what the last one tasted like!

Hi All

Completed this test last week using blades tikka and taz gravy/spice mix.  Three of the five were very close for me and the wife.  I think this is a test that will come out that everyone has a completely different outlook on what is their perfect CTM!  Cannot wait for the full results now :)

Hi

I tried using the pre fried spices at the start and made the base with the whole spices.  Definitly noticed the difference with whole spices particularly the coriander had a greater depth of flavour IMHO.  But the difficulty lies in blending the spices small enough at the end without getting coriander husks left over!!

Hi Unclefrank

Does the korahi recipe have anything new in it?  I know there are lots of versions,  namely korahi/karahi/korai but i have never found a recipe to match my local TA?
