I thought the hiccup problem was just me,
until now, does anyone know why we hiccup when we eat hot food ?
My wife told me its because i eat like a Pig when i eat Curries. :-X
The reason i can eat Hot Curries & live is that I'm in league with Satan & Madder than a pair of Chocolate Bicycle Clips ;D

Hottest I've had was a homemade Phall, with 25 Birds Eye Chillies, 2 Scotch Bonnets & 300mg of Vindalloo Curry powder & it was a very nice Curry but too hot to eat all the time, im sure overdoing it must be not good for you insides, but the heat is very addictive, i stick to good old normall Phalls these days as the Darklord ain't as young as he once was, the benefit of eating hot Curries though only comes to light at the other end & you don't get the Ringstinger effect after several weeks continuous heat training ;D, my mates at work think Ive flushed most of my insides out anyway. ;D
Respect NairB you looonatic !!!! ;D

Here you will find many recipes, I'm not sure what you mean by bitterness in a curry
, i make Madras, Vindalloo,Tindalloo & Phall Curries all hot & none bitter, over cooking your Spices can make them have a bitter taste which may translate into the Curry itself.
Let us know what you mean by bitter matey & we'll help you in your quest
