Chicken Bhuna with Green Chilli an pilau rice

#1753
Made a Chicken Bhuna with extra chillis last night and have to say it was a belting curry, full of flavour and as good as any take away according to the wife, Ive never had a take away bhuna so cant comment on that. I still think the base is a little too flavoured but it is an outstanding base and am so glad I made it.
  Cheers Stew for the recipe

Take some pics and will upload them shortly

Hi Stew, made a madras last night but after cooking the base all afternoon/teatime and after drinking too many beers and not eating till 10.00 im afraid I cant really comment properly on the results. Yes it was a lovely curry, friends ate it within minutes and took some base home with them, but Im afraid my senses were a little curried out!!!
I have a portion of base sat in the fridge and will be making another curry tonight for the Mrs, the best judge of all curries I make! As my favourite base is KD2 maybe the spicing of the base was a little strong to what I am used to, or maybe subconsciously thats what I thought while cooking, but the true test of the curry will be tonight when my sinuses are clear and I wont be too intoxicated to cook!!!
Sorry didnt take pictures of the curry last night, I always remember after it has all gone, but I will take some of tonights and will post results tomorrow

Regards

Andy

Thanks Stephen and Jb, excellent answers, after making Admin new base and a madras I was a little disappointed, whether my senses were nulled from cooking all day, or the base wasnt what I expected. The jury is still out and I have a base in the fridge for tomorrow night so shall try again when my sinuses have cleared.
I did find the base to be overpowering a little, over spiced maybe. But taking on your opinions made me think and I will make my favourite KD2 base again and aim to improve it by what I have learned from cooking other bases, hopefully one day we will all create that 'magic' that is a true BIR.

Hi just made a batch of Admin new base and was wondering what everyone else is currently using and why?
My favourite is Kd2 because it is easy, tasty , lightly spiced so very versatile, and the wife says the best curries I have made have been with this base, whether its been rogan josh, bhuna, madras, jalfrezi or vindaloo.
Was just interested what everyone else thinks

Hi Stew just in process of making a batch of this base for the first time, I must say having read the replies I am very optimistic about it.
I hope this is going to take my curries to the next level. I have made many different bases Dipuraji, 3 hour base , Darths, Kd1, Kd2, Bruce Edwards, Pat Chapman, curry 2 go,Taz,  amongst others, my favourite been KD2 as it is very versatile and tasty.
It does smell very nice at the moment just have to add spice and wait for oil to rise, then its lads round for good few beers and curry night, not sure what curry it will be, prob a Madras as its always a good benchmark for a new base.
I shall post results tomorrow!!!! hang over permitting
   Thanks for great post mate

Rogan Josh / Re: Rogan Josh by Razor

Hi made this curry last night at the Mrs request, i normally am a madras>phall person so do not generally eat milder curries, but I have to say it was amazing. The Mrs said it was far superior and 200% more tasty than the restaurant curry we ordered over Xmas, (from The Raj Pavillion in Hull) and I have to agree with her as I had a sample of the take away Rogan. This is a must make curry and is definately one i shall be making again (but will be put a few fresh chillis in for the chef!!!) .Thanks for great post Razor

Think im gonna make this curry again tonight as have been on a madras , vindaloo or phall curry fad lately, I must say last time I made it it was fantastic , maybe the water adding does singe the spices to give the flavour, all I can say is that if you havent made this curry you really should give it a bash

 A few questions.

When will this ebook be out?

  Is this ebook free?

Why not just tell us what the ingredient is, I thought the idea of this site was sharing experiences and information , not saying theres a secret ingredient and keeping it to yourself for months.

  Come on play the game........
