Lets Talk Curry / Re: BIR documents I compiled

@Willyheckerslike ... I agree with your sentiments completely.

@CA .. please do not remove your content from this forum .. I realise you're understandably feeling cheesed off at the moment but a huge amount of people ( myself included ) rely very heavily on your expertise and experience with regards to BIR cooking. I wouldn't be able to produce anything vaguely resembling BIR without your help and kindness in posting your recipes so please , please leave it here for people like me to access and as when.

Lets Talk Curry / Maggi Tamarina

Hi friends ,

I was in a new Asian supermarket last week and saw this on the shelf ... something I read on here ( maybe from Natterjac ) about how nice this stuff is made me buy a jar but I have no idea what to do with it or how to use it .. if any of you use this sauce would you be kind and let me know how / what to do with it please.

Thanks in anticipation   ;)   :)

I think if you still have 2 non BIR days you are indeed in trouble .. we must eat curry every day .. that's the law. I propose you start by filling a corn plaster with 0.25 TSP of mix powder and apply much like a nicotine patch .. wear it all day and simply empty into your chosen dish in the evening ... within a month you'll be like the rest of us curry 24/7 !!

Good luck !!   ;)

Steve .. thanks for your response .. you too may have something there since I only buy my paprika once a year from my neighbour opposite since he makes it at home ( grows it would be better ! ) and I suppose in the course of 8-9 months it could go a bit off . I'm still thinking it's more to do with my technique though because it's only occasionally it happens and having read Chewy's response where he says to add the tom puree before the spice mix I can easily see how I may have inadvertently burnt my spice ... I try to cook on mega-heat  :)

I'm glad I asked the question now because it's changed the order I'll add stuff so that these odd occasions become scarcer ...   thanks once again

Both Chewy and Curryhell .. you've got a great pair of dishes there .. I cooked Chewy's madras and it was superb ... as someone else posted on Chewy's thread I too have always steered clear of madras when out thinking it was a little weak somehow ... but the flavour is perfect .. my wife said it was the best I've produced to date and I have to agree .. the tarka of onion and pepper at the start really came through at the end .. a real winner Chewy and thanks for sharing !    :)

Hi Chewy,

Just wanted to say a big thank you having cooked this tonight ... it was lovely in the true meaning of the word ..perfect . As I was cooking it I thought ' hold on there's nothing ground breaking in here' but after a 8 - 10 minute simmer .. gorgeous .. subtle beauty !   :)

Sorry Les ,

You're quite right , other recipes are a welcome change from time to time. To persistently post non BIR recipes and nothing but non BIR is a little less welcome bearing in mind for what we stand on cr0.

Where's the link for that vindaloo pizza !    ;)

Nicely put George .. I was polite and encouraging to start with but I agree Sam has had opportunity enough to sample and comment on the recipes here if she feels inclined. To keep posting irrelevant recipes is a little insensitive to this forum which exists to try to emulate BIR .. nothing more or less.

Sorry Sam but ... (moderated) or get off the potty .
