That looks delicious Andy. I would defo be interested in your base. I am currently making my 7th batch of Zaal base and I am very happy with the results but am interested now to try others to see the difference side by side in the finished dish.

How long do you set the colours in your rice and what brand of colour do you use as mine always seems to bleed a little and I woould be so happy if it looked like yours :)

Cheers Andy, Lou  :D

Great idea with the chilli flakes.  Will do that :)

Every weekend since Feb I have cooked a takeaway for my mum dad and bro. Sometimes sisters as well (depending on how generous I feel lol)

Always do pilau, naans, madras, chutneys, pops, and then different starters so tomorrow is samosa and tikka :)

Mine needed more chilli as I had to tone it done for the hubby. Recipe said 4 chilli and I only added one. It defo needed more heat. Thats probably why it was a bit sweet. Lessons learned today. I spent all morning doing Samosas and chicken 65 and my naans for tomorrow :)

Happy days!  ;D

I made these for the first time today. The pastry only made 12 as it was very difficult to roll and after cooking 4 of them as a test (for dinner) I realise the pastry was a bit thick. They tasted great though. I did the potato filling with peas and a bit of carrot ( as I hadn't got quite enough spuds).

I did the circles and l stacked them but they started sticking before I could get them on the tawa so next time I will roll...cut circles....to Tawa... half and then bag.

They were quite hard work from start to finish but well worth it and I know they will get easier and better with practice. We scoffed 2 each with some salad and chicken 65 ( hubby had chips with his) . Yum :)

Cheers guys!
