I've heard they're disguising themselves as Gary Glitter for their trip home....they'll get a warmer reception that way...On a brighter note though it aint half cheering me up watching the other 'alf drowning his sorrows - every cloud an' all that ;D

Razor's base is the best all-rounder for me :P

**EDIT** of the two you've posted, Gaz, it has to be CA's ;)

Check out Darth Phalls Base recipe as well first one i used off this forum and imo still one of the best

One of the forum's biggest losses is Darth....I'd love to know how his base has evolved (if it has at all). His was my fave base for a long time though I must admit I haven't used it for quite a while now.

Well I'm 39 and started eating curries in the late 70's

So you were under 9 Domi?  :o  And you remember them well enough?

Yes CA - some things we never forget lol - not forgetting that a curry has been a weekly/twice weekly event ever since then...I remember my first restaurant Indian meal in Shababs in Hudds town centre when I was seven like it was yesterday (then again I remember my first taste of Spangles too). :P

So, anyone under the age of about 40 is unlikely to have experienced much in the way of BIR curries prior to the early 90s (when, arguably, not that I necessarily believe it, much may have changed)....or am I missing something?  :-\

Well I'm 39 and started eating curries in the late 70's...then again I'm the youngest of 8 kids and the eldest is 17 years older than me so I started eating curries when they did lol ;D By your measure I'm out by 10-20 years :o

Ok, this may not be the correct way to do a garlic naan, but my old TA, which was excellent by the way, simply brushed the cooked naan will melted garlic butter ghee.

They were fantastic and quite juicy as I remember.

Ray :)

That's how they do it here too....sometimes they bung it in the flat oven if it's a bit wet but the brushing with melted ghee and garlic works best for me at home...I add just a twist or two of salt to the garlic ghee to enhance the flavour too.

**EDIT** I use CA's naan recipe btw ;) but cut down the sugar and the nigella quantities.
