The brother at this point admitted they used Pataks balti paste to add a certain something at this point and the chef added about 1.5TSP of this paste.

Hi Mark,

I didn't actually get to see them put it in but a guy in a restaurant I spoke to said that they use Pataks for all their Balti's so this seems like common practice.

Hi Pete,

Would you say that it was a better curry than you made before using your own gravy etc...?

Anyone fancy a go?

Have you seen the site??

?150 a day!!!? :o?

I think I will be giving it a miss, I mean its a bit steep, I did a rally driving course which cost less than that and they provided the cars!!!

Just after adding the onions, where you add everything else except the toms.

I made another batch of this sauce up at the weekend and to try something different I thought I would add some cashew nuts as suggested by the Prashad book.  I made Pete's gravy as usual but with the addition of a tbls or so of blended cashews & water, the result was surprisingly good, it did add to "that" taste, it was sweeter and the sauce actually tasted fine on its own!

Ive only made one curry with it so far and will experiment some more.

It appears that this group doesn't accept attachments.

If you go to Restaurant Recipes and start a new thread, when you click Additional Options you have the attach option there.

I don't know if this is by design? ???

There used to be periods like this on in2curry, a couple of times I posted asking if the group was dead!?

It did pick up though and hopefully this forum will as well.? We need someone to get another gravy recipe from a restaurant or something, that will give us enough to talk about for weeks? :o
