An excelent breakdown to the sequence of cooking Cory. Myself I prefer the method of using precooked veg and add as I go {like you say It prevents too much water }. The Local B.I.R. I use prefer to flash fry their {uncooked veg }, then add base sauce and meat/fish/chicken, and superheat again before serving.

Hi Bumtrouble, Quite a few years ago I tried brewing my own beer {a company called Tynesider Ales or something like that } anyway I used to get great satisfaction from brewing my own, But when my children came along I just seemed to lose interest, Maybe I might try again sometime.

Darth, Do you find just 1 piece of Star Anise is just enough to flavour the rice, or do you use more.
