Where is the oil that they put into the base from? Fryers or?

I've tried it with and without lemon juice, and with and without Worcestershire Sauce. It's slightly different each time but to honest not particularly better or worse whichever way.

I have to disagree Jerry. IMO the Ashoka base is sub standard and has such a high yield it puts you off making curry until you're rid of it. Look at my images and see where you think went wrong if you firmly believe it to be up there.

Superior bases in my mind are SnS June 2008, Saffron, Rajver, ifindforu, UB's, Darthphalls, Admis new base (in no particular order) and probably others.

The guy in the Indian cash and carry told me they had stopped stocking the east end marge. I didn't sell. They laughed at me when I suggested it was anything special. Any middle of the road bog standard marge is similar, so I'm told.

Hmmm.., I tried this with the SnS June base and didn't get on with it very well atall. Although, for some reason I don't think this is my greatest batch. I thought when making it that this would go really well with the Rajver, which already tastes like curry.
