Hi Sultry,

Are you not using a curry gravy\base sauce to make your korma?

If it tastes the same as the restaurant, Isnt your battle over?

I don't think it will ever be fully over unless you install a full size restuarant kitchen in your house, Petes halfway there  :D

Hi Bryan,

I live near storrington now and have had currys from a couple of the BIR's there.  The Marakesh is the worst one its mainly a pizza and burger place, and I prefer my own vindaloo than what ive had from there.  The Cottage on the other hand is excellent, there currys are a blend of traditional BIR with a hint of authentic, their Korai is one of the best currys ive ever had!

Curry Web Links / The Balti Page - Update
July 25, 2005, 11:36 AM
I think this is an update as I don't remember seeing recipes on there before:

http://www.owlsprings.com/the_balti_page/balti_recipes.htm

There is a balti sauce, spice mix and masala paste which looks similar to the 100 best baltis book.? Theres not many actual balti recipes but worth a look if you havn't got the book.

Most British Indian restaurants are staggeringly poor, so it's not difficult to do MUCH better at home1

You might think this a little strange but the majority of people that frequent this forum know this yet still try to emulate it, me included  ;)

Hi,

There are 3 or 4 bases on here that are all worth trying, I don't think there's a "best one" as such.

Heres a few:

Try a couple and see which one you have more success with.
