I posted this a while ago about Asda, they do a frozen crushed garlic  & a frozen crushed ginger.  The ingredients for the garlic is :- garlic.  The ingredients for ginger is :- ginger.  I think they are great as it lets me prepare enough g&g paste for the amount of dishes I require with no waste. I am sure they were less than a pound each, can't look for the post as I am at work & busy :P

I am not a great CTM fan, but I agree, this to spec is pretty much 100% BIR CTM (regional varitions excluded ie jb's late addition of sultanas & flaked almonds, I add a swirl of cream & flaked almonds when serving).  I have made it quite a few times now, the family & friends love it ;).

I made these last night for the second time but I was going to try chriswg's version but I couldn't get any kashmiri massalla.
Anyway I used aniseed for the first time which I managed to find on my local market.  I have just realised I made a mistake - I halved the onion amount to 2 but never halved the spices ::) and I also added 2 red chillies.
Result was probably the best Onion bhaji I have ever made or indeed tasted.  I think the aniseed is the key instead of fennel seed & not halving on the spices was a good mistake to make ;D

thanks again Axe

I have just bought some frozen crushed garlic &  frozen crushed ginger from Asda.  The brand is TAJ and it is 100% garlic or ginger with no additives or presarvatives.  The packs are filled with rectangular frozen pieces and at a guess each one will be about 2tsp.  It costs 97 pence for a 400 gram packet.
