Thanks CH. I agree about having it for breakfast but unfortunately it all disappeared last night. But never mind, there is always more base gravy in the freezer just begging to be used.

Last nights dinner Josephine, a simple chicken madras. Just wish I'd had a happy naan to dunk in it.

I made this yesterday for dinner. Very tasty it was too. I've posted a detailed report in the recipes section if anyone wants to give it a go.

Here is a detailed post of my chicken madras recipe. It's very simple and uses very few ingredients but as long as it is cooked properly tastes like a good BIR madras IMO. Hope someone finds this useful.

I made 3 of my own recipes this afternoon, they have been evolving slowly but are now at a level for me that is at least as good as any local restaurant or takeaway. I don't go much for a vindaloo that is just a hot madras, for me it has to have a much stronger flavour, so I actually prefer my vindaloo to any T/a that I've had.

Hi MA. The dhansak I make is pretty close to my local t/a and would accept a bit more chilli and even some fresh chillies. I would suggest going easy on the lime juice to start with, maybe just half the lime to start with. The quantity of lentils can also be reduced if need be. It's also made using jb's base which I believe you use.

SR, it looks like the vindaloo looks a bit different in the first two pics- or is that just the light?
It's the same curry Onions, for some reason it does look much darker on the plate. That is more what it was like too.

Thanks for the compliments Naga and LC. I guess we all keep trying.

All the best
