I agree Mikka,

Annnnd even if it has nothing to do with Indian food, it might get this website back to where it should be.

Have you forgotten the amount of crap that people got from certain quarters for posting non-curry related recipes/threads? lol it hardly encourages people to post which is a real shame...we should be encouraged to help one another out in whatever way we can, not lambasted and harrassed for months for helping out....plus it gives the forum a much needed friendlier air. Never known anything like that on any other board ???

I'm sure he'll be back in September, and having read all the bickering and arguing going on will probably drop off like a few others....... :(

What, bickering like you're doing right here now? The moderators are doing their best to clean up the threads but, as fast as they succeed, you are attempting - directly or indirectly - to remind us all again. Please cut it out for the good of the forum. Who wants to read comments like you've just made, or this post of mine, actually.

George,

Thats exactly what I am trying to do...... eradicate all the negativity and bickering of those guilty.....If it takes a few attempts of keep going on to remind people of this... then I am more than willing to keep  this up.........

I actually love this web site and although I am not a moderator (nor would I have the time and I think you guys do, do a good job) I will make every effort to bring this site back on track.... :)

Sorry, If I am a pain in the A*se........ but there is more to life than negativity...... :)

Best to leave that one alone, 976bar....Mother Theresa couldn't help there ;D

Just made this and I have to say it's very nice - wasn't sure on my first taste so I called the second in command to have a try and we stood there dipping in over and over - had to stop because we're not eating it just yet (no tomato or coriander garnish in it - will do that just before serving) ;D It has more flavour than I thought it would for the light spicing and the balance between sweet and sour is spot on for me - I had worried at the amount of sugar needlessly as it turns out. Lovely creamy curry, I'll be making this one again for sure. ;D

Never had an original chasni to compare it to but for a new dish it's a cracker :)

(got a couple of pics but they're crap as ever lol)

I worry when the recipes are all split up by Admin as I feel like the Ashoka posts they should be kept together as they relate to each other and deserve to be kept together for what they are genuine recipes from a BIR and not the attempts of ourselves. Maybe you could comment on that point and convince the powers that be to keep them together. Anyway I just as ever want to help. The site has been a major part of my culinary life and its good to give back PP

Well said! I think any recipes which are tied to certain bases ought to be sectioned together i.e. SL's chicken chasni should be posted under the BE base....though there are so many "untied" recipes it may prove problematic as some posters swear recipes work equally as well with any base though personally speaking I don't quite see how given the differences in ingredients/measures between one base and another :\ it's a pain in the arse sometimes going from thread to thread to find the right spice mix, oil mix, precook method, base and final dish far easier to have them all under one heading...won't hold my breath waiting on it being implemented though...

I might have one or two recipes kicking about - traditional Pathias are as you probably know, usually seafood recipes but they always say you can substitute with chicken. If I can find them I'll post them on here.

Thanks SL ;D to be honest I've tried a multitude of recipes over the years but not one of them had given me anywhere close to BIR pathia results...I'd all but given up on it until I tried UB's pathia recipe which for me is the mutts nuts lol :P

Hi emin :)

I often make baseless or "from scratch" curries and you're right - they do taste much better than curries with a base, trouble is I love the taste of BIR curries too - I've never been able to make a decent pathia without a base lol :( There are some good links at the bottom of the homepage for authentic home recipes.

here's a link to my baseless dopiaza: https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=3470.0 I'd be chuffed if you gave it a go :)
