I think alot of people started off trying to create the curry they get from their local takeaway,   they probably bought a book or two and cooked a traditional curry which they probably were only half pleased with, as it wasnt what they were hoping for.

There are a few differences between traditional and BIR style curries, not only techniques but taste too.

I havent cooked a trad for almost a year now, but i sure have alot of books to try out.
My wife and kids much prefer a BIR style curry, i prefer a change now and then.
Maybe i should get back to what i started off with :)

Actually Darth all recipes on this site are the intellectual property of their respective authors. The same goes for pictures, photos and webdesign. You need permission to publish anything you find on the web. Thats why alot of people link to sites instead of directly copying information. Then again, you could take a picture or information or a design and change it to such an extent that it becomes your own work, thus navigating around the copyright laws. To be honest there arent any internet police ready to arrest people and  copyright infringement is mostly enforced by goverments on behalf of the entertainment industry.

Theorectically you could sue the person who copied your recipe, but youll get alot further by giving them a word slap ;). Actually the best bet is to just feel proud, how many people get their recipes copied to the beeb??! gg dood! ;D

Actually its copyright infringement and plagerism! But im sure it was done with the right intention. Although credit should be given where credit is due

The thing is when u search for a topic on a search motor like Google, the link that comes up first is the one that has generated the most hits (I think it works something like that). Im surprised when searching for "curry recipes" that we arent number 1 on the link list, although we havent got the largest traffic in the world (yet) we have the most consistent (thanks to this incredible forum). If you count the amount of people who log in each and every day or just come as a guest everyday, each year then we should be up their with the best. Unfortunately if ppl want curry recipes they will get http://www.curryfrenzy.com/ or another top list link.

Maybe if everyone used Google each day and searched for Cr0 and clicked on the link we should bump up our place on the link page and thus generate even more hits?

Just a thought  ::)

Yes mate, open your photo in a good image editing program like Adobe Photoshop, click on > Image > Image Size or Edit and you should see a box with some numbers pop up. Put in the values you want, to reduce the size of the image (width/height), make sure you keep the same dimensions (constrain proportions) first.

As your computer screen can only display 72 dpi (dots per inch), if your resolution is greater than 72 reduce the dpi to 72, this will reduce the picture size. Mostly higher dpi are used for printing where you will want 200-300 dpi to produce more detail in a printed photo. But for computers, firstly reduce the dpi, then constrain the proportions and reduce either width or height.

This will also reduce the physical file size as well so you wont have to upload too many kbs to the Cr0 server. There is actually a file size limit but im not sure what it is.

Hope this helps

Lets Talk Curry / The Taste

Have you  ever thought that a real traditional balti is set on fire.

Why then doesnt it have "the taste" ? It has a lovely taste.. but not "the taste"..

Now that could mean the combination of spices is different and/or some spices react under extreme heat and give "the taste".. or it could mean that setting curries on fire hasnt much to do with the taste.

hmm.. the pot thickens!
