Yes, a very good read indeed! ;)
How would this garam masala be used, would you crush it to sprinkle over the dish at the end of cooking etc??

Pure and simple and to the point.
Thanks very much.

Trivial really, but does freezing GG enhance the dreaded spit?

I'm sure you will get a variety of replies to this question. In terms of making curries with the Taz Base and Bruce Edward's spice mix,

Stephen, not wishing to detract from the topic here but I am intending to try this combination.

After reading all 12 pages regarding Taz's base probably a few times over just to make sure I've taken it all in I went on to the next stage, Bruce Edward's spice mix.

The search took me here which completely has done my head in tonight (overload ::)) to find there are two versions of it, please help me out and tell me which one you use as I can't face doing anymore research as it's getting on for 1am.
If you could please help me out it would be much appreciated!

I was about to add last night that you was actually invited to this forum as well as others and you obliged us with a visit Julian.
I thought Id best let it drop as this thing could end up as silly as drawing divisions here.

I for one totally enjoy your advice and vids and books etc and that's not taking it away from anybody else on here, they all have something to offer.
Although I understand that some people have put years of research and effort into this cuisine and can be very protective of their knowledge and to be shown credit where credits due I think they should chill out.

I can see no ulterior motives of why you drop in now and again.
I'll say it once again, you didn't have to drop by, you was invited!

One thing he states in one of his vids is that nowdays he often leaves the running of C2Go to his staff as he is very busy, so there is no guarantee that he would be there even if you turned up.

Obviously he states that this has no relevance on the quality of the dishes served up and I should imagine he keeps check on the standards.

Now that's what i call answered SS.
Re: Two questons please
To the left is The JB brand, very rich dark red brown and pungent, and to the right is the stock Rajah brand, very pale in comparison.

I will leave my verdict on this after I have used it for a month or so, seeing I am trying to many things out at the moment I am still on a learning curve to a degree.
Shame about the cooking oil... I did suspect there was more than meets the eye on this.

1,
I have bought some Cholesterol free Sunflower oil, I didn't know such oil exists until now. Seeing I am on medication re Cholesterol this is just what I'm after... Why is not all oil made this way, does anybody on here use it, and if not why not?
Seeing the base I'm using at the minute is high in oil (dare I say it Julians) would this be a healthier option.
Why is not all oil Cholesterol free if this stuff is so bad for us?

2,
I have come across some Curry powder/Garam masala.
Now what I should use this as... IE in place of my Rajah mild madras or when I'm making a mix should I use it as a Garam masala, and to make things even more confusing am I right in thinking a curry powder is just a garam masala in the first place. :-\

I have asked these questions in a previous post but only Aussie Mick gave me any feedback and that was to say on the brand I have in question he is not sure.
The brand is JB and can be seen here?
Two questons please

It's a shame I don't know how to put this to use as it seems to be a premium quality.
Unfortunately I do not have enough experience to even recommend/ not recommend this masala I should imagine it's going to be trial and error for a while. :(
Two questons please

QuoteCan you provide any links to Kitchen King? I did a search and it came up with 1,000,000's of replys as any word ending with "king" came up LOL

I had the same results on the search Mick but when done with the phrase between quotation marks IE "Kitchen King" then it comes back with the exact phrase, this also works on goolgle as well as this site but sometimes gets overlooked, it may also be worth throwing MDH in the serch field also.

There is quite a write up here on the K/K and I suspect the JB masala should be used in the same manor.
It is very strong, I have not even opened the box yet. From what I can tell the K/K is also like this once opened.

As for the Okra I am hoping to start making a few veg dishes so I must get my head around Okra and aubergine.

I have a local Curry Hut in the market (tables and chairs outside etc) and he does me a mixed meat and veg takeaway, I'm hopeing to get somewhere near this, not very BIR but as my misses says most of my dinners end up looking like a car accident and that's just the way I like them. :)

A quick link leading to everywhere and nowhere...

A few additions to my Curry arsenal that I have not used before.
I got these from my local cash and carry, a bit sparse I know.
Has anybody heard of the JB special curry powder, the shop assistant told me to use very sparingly and to me it smells a bit like five spice powder, very pungent.
My Cash and Carry Goodies.

I did not buy the Kashmiri chili, they only had this big bag for a fiver and I'm holding out on the MDH brand.
My Cash and Carry Goodies.

I got this frozen Okra, I have never tasted this stuff but will chase up a recipe in due time.
My Cash and Carry Goodies.

I also got a litre of Pride no cholesterol sunflower oil, excuse my ignorence, is this as healthy as it sounds? :-\

How should I use the masala, should I use it as a curry powder or a garam masala!

Just had a good read up on the Kitchen King in past threads so I've got my head around that one.
I should imagine the JB should be used in the same manor?
