So what did the people of Baltistan eat? there must be a culinary connection somewhere

If peeling small onions is so spherically painful  ;D why not use large onions then cut into rings then pickle using your pickling method

Been pickling for years all home grown
I buy vinegar from Asian shops much cheaper than supermarkets  5l containers No need to buy pickling vinegar
Try a few red chillis in the jar or any other whole spices then you will have your very own designer onions

Could be a chefs ladle  ;D
