Don't see any point in having a recipe, If your going to change it, just as well make it up as you go along
But this seems to be the norm, Take a recipe then destroy it, especially in the base section

I agree, and I am raising the same concern.

Isn't there anyone else here who shares the same concern as CA and myself? There must be. Any member with an IQ of less than 100 need not reply.

Thank you

I agree with you and CA, but I'm a newbie and don't really have the expertise to comment (although I have now) I expect there are some more, but don't want to upset the applecart so of speak ;D

Cheers Mate,
I will try it that way,
Could you cook the onions in a little oil then add the base leaving the onions in the pan?

Do you mean, following the pepper and onion cook, leave the onions in the pan and begin at the 1st stage Taz cook?
If so, I would suggest that the onions and pepper would be well overcooked by the end of the whole process.

Cheers

Yes thats what i ment and I can see your point, maybe a bad idea ::)
I'll do it your way
Thanks

Curry Base Chat / Taz's Base Question
February 15, 2011, 02:10 PM
If I were using Taz's Base to do a recipe which calles for chopped onions (as some do)  When do I add the onions? at the first stage, when reducing the base with all the spices added,
Or at the second stage adding the rest of the base? (The brain has just gone into hibernation) and i can't think of the best way of doing it

Hi Jerry
I agree with you about the mint, couldn't really taste it in mine, But the Lime was enough for me ;D
Out of the three recipes that you mention which in your opinion is the number one (don't want to put you on the spot or anything ;))
never made a tikka before,(Or had one from the T/A) So would like another one to compare it with
