ASDA (the big stores) have started selling big pots not that expensive either, can you get to a place called "MAKRO"they sell a very good range of cooking stuff at very good prices.
I have a 11 litre pot and dont have any trouble doing any bases on this site.

Hi Mandy i am from Tipton so not far from you, try Bilston towards the bottom of the town for a little supermarket called Nisa (they do every type of Indian spice),plus dont forget to use the market stall at the top of West Bromwich town (the owner is always sitting on his chair at the front of the stall) for ALL of your ingredients for your curries, coriander, garlic, ginger, chillies and also sells the string bags of onions very reasonable prices as well.
Anything else you want help with please feel free to ask.

Hello George, the  curry base, chicken tikka and tarka dhal were all frozen but by the time we got down to the campsite ,set tent up etc....Everything was defrosted so it was still marinading all the time it was defrosting.
One thing i would say is make sure what ever you are putting the curry  in or chicken tikka etc.. that the bags, boxes are securely taped down or placed into another bag(if using bags) because it does make a mess if it leaks a little.

I use the food containers from ASDA the ones with the letters G and Q on them ?1 for six.
As for a darker coloured madras  i used red onions instead of brown/white onions and the colour came out quite dark used the base as normal but when the recipe asks for 1 medium onion finely chopped (stage 3) i used the red onion.
