April 02, 2011, 04:18 PM
hi guys well it arrived on thursday washed it straight away and cooked my vindaloo with it that night the missus who has been off curry lately tried some and loved it. so last night made a CT vindaloo for 2 and she moaned that it wasnot as thick as the nights before oops but still eat the whole lot!  i love the pan and worth the 15.25gbp it cost with courier and VAT so it took 2 days to arrive. the only problem is the stainless steel chef spoon/s and the aluminium don't go so well :'(

Sorry to labour this topic but after quite a bit of searching on the web, I think i've found the perfect pan. They also stock quite a few other items found in BIR's too. I might even be tempted by the LPG Burner they have.

The wife is gonna kill me. lol ;D

hi nj that chilli powder shown is just the same as the packets you can get but rajah do sell an extra hot chilli powder as well, and if that's not hot enough for you ASDA are selling Dave's insanity chilli sauce made with the naga jolokia( ghost pepper) with added chilli extract for 3gbp instead of 4.98gbp bargain labelled not to be used as a condiment LOL! have used it to make a chicken naga as you eat it you get a full face flush as the heat rises. but still yummy imo ;D

hi jerry my thoughts are that they would use the same marinade just adding tandoori red to the tandoori chicken marinade and sunset yellow to the tikka so as to differentiate between the 2.  obviously they would taste similar but different because of the leg or thigh being on the bone. not sure that the colouring isn't just for US lol!

yours is similar to mine only not mint (lamb dishes)/green chilli/lime/milk/GM. i use mouchak(although i did have great results with rajvers) mix powder/a pinch of methi/salt and lemon dressing, bearing in mind that this is for the marinade.

hi jerry have you just tried using the pataks tandoori paste mixed with coconut powder and sugar a tsp of rajah tandoori masala( try mixing with a little water to release the true colour) and cream, i made a chicken tandoori masala, which turned out to be quite a surprise, i suppose that the only thing missing was the actual chicken tikka i had used precooked chicken, my best mate's daughter scoffed the lot, and she loves my CTM. cheated a little on the colouring side though not altering the taste.

hope this helps and it may help you stop the pataks after taste coming through lol

hi george but it is not copyright fraud you have to write exactly word for word to commit fraud, luckily for us phil does not know his chilli powder from his cjilli powder psml. so we should be fine! isn't cjilli polish for chilli? lol. and btw george as long as he does not portray himself as the author of said recipe.
hope this is not taken the wrong way lol

oops

Curry Base Chat / Re: Mouchak base sauce

hi jerry if you Pm me your rajver deluxe version i will make it and compare the 2. remember making some cracking curries the type that smell lingers especially in the bathroom, the fumes used to go up the stairs and stick to the tiled bathroom wall so when i used to have a bath the warm moist air would release the slightly fenugreek curry aroma.
