UB, I think you misunderstood my post. I was merely complementing CA's Vindaloo / Dhall / Pilau rice platter, perfectly presented in all the proper BIR stainless steel cookwear.
I said that not everyones results look as good at that image all of the time. If you reread my post, you will notice that at no point do I make any comments regarding the outcome of CA's, or for that matter any other contributing members recipes. What I was trying to point out is that not everything that comes out of the kitchen is going to look perfect and I think the photos posted here should reflect that.

Are you serious??? :o A well presented Pilau and a deworming in one! Now that's what I call killing two birds with one stone ;D
With the syringe are you using powder or liquid? Or powder mixed with water? In the absence of a pet dog / serious drug habit ;D any clues as to where I could get a similar syringe? Is that the best method?

I'm with SnS! 28 degrees!!!??? For a pasty Scot like me I'm afraid it would either be me or the ginger :o

This is next on the to-do list. I currently use food colouring in powdered form but find it quite hard get concise drops onto the rice - I'm going to try using a small straw I think. Would I just be better off buying the liquid food colouring? :-\

Lets Talk Curry / Re: curry for ten

If you do want to try the BIR Bhuna for ten however, I would use this combination as the optimum trade off between simplicity vs BIR flavour.

Base Sauce - SnS' adaptation to admins new base https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=2189.0

Precooked Meat - I would use chicken and go for DarthPhalls method from his Madras recipe here https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=674.0 under stage 2

Main Bhuna Recipe - Seriously, try this out. Delicious. I made it and posted my images on the thread. Just follow the instructions and it's really simple. CK's Lamb Bhuna - obviously just replace the lamb with the chicken https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=1914.0

1 batch of the base will be more than enough, probably two batches for the pre cooked chicken to fit it into your pan, and do the Bhuna in 3 separate batches and you should be ok, assuming the portions aren't huge. Good luck!  8)

Yeah, it is a little out of focus but too broad and contorted to be cinnamon. I have neither seen nor used mace before. I'm going to research this a little.

Stew - does he take the whole spices back out before serving?
