Talk About Anything Other Than Curry / Re: shawarma recipe to do yourself at home

Ghoulie,
Many thanks for the shawarma recipe
The best shawarma I've eaten was in Abu Nawas in Al Khobar, Saudi.
A huge plate with moist succulent lamb, beautiful sauce, coriander and pickled vegetables.
I've tried several shawarma in uk restaurants but nothing matches the food in the ME!

I think I detect the whiff of lavender.
Also, Tony Benn supported Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge and Chairman Mao - AFTER the evidence of genocide and mass rape became public. Although, he had some nice anecdotes and a sparkle in his eyes.

Talk About Anything Other Than Curry / Re: Curries v. the simpler pleasures of life

Steak cooked with a simple pan sauce has an addictive quality similar to BIR curry.
It took me about five attempts, but when I'd cracked it I was scraping the fond from the pan with a spoon - it was that good.
Steak, salt, butter, red wine (zinfandel or pino grigiot).
Cooked in a pan without a non-stick coating.

I would be obliged if this whole thread could be removed. This is a forum for curry discussion - not political. There are plenty of places for people to express their political views, but this isn't one of them.
Garp is right - and it is turning into an ugly thread.
