At last. As I have said in an earlier post, I have been making curries for years but they have always lacked that "take away" something. Well, after reading through loads of posts and curry base recommendations I have finally produced a scorching hot curry that meets all of my desires. It has the right consistency, texture and flavour. Plus it is extremely hot.

Thanks to all you guys that have pointed me in the right direction and you can be sure I will be making lots more of them, especially to take to work (I work nights so no-one to upset). Here is a photo from that first successful effort.

Cracking recipe (and pics) and one I will be looking forward to in the near future.
Yum.

Curryhell, just read your commentary and giggled all the way through. This is something I have not had the pleasure of experiencing as my upbringing on curry was from a young age and one I have continued. Your comment about the curry producing a bout of hiccups made me snigger as my wife always tells me that this is how she can tell I am eating a really hot one.
The pictures look great and I intend to have a go at this recipe.

You had some base left over ?  Clearly you didn't cook and eat enough curries :)
Welcome, Rob.

Cheers Phil.
Made plenty of base as I will be making a lot more curry, I love it. The leftovers from the ones I made last night are now also in the freezer, couldn't finish it all.

Well, found this fabulous site and wish I'd come across it before now. I've been making curries for years but always finding something not quite right about them. Tried this base recipe and made a medium curry for the missus and a cracking hot one for myself last night. And here are the remains of the base sauce from the video shown here and they are now in the freezer for later.

Cheers
Rob
