I agree that the turnout was not small, but it was smaller than the minimum turnout specified in the petition.  I most certainly do not agree that the decision was not by a narrow margin; a narrower margin is hard to imagine.  I believe that any referendum to change the /status quo/ should have required at least a 60:40 margin, and ideally a 70:30 margin, before a change was mandated.

** Phil.

Bloody remain voters and that petition.. a measly 22 signatures prior to the result then after the announcement of defeat its suddenly gains momentum.  The margin isn't big enough, the turnout wasn't sufficient...blah blah blah.

Unfortunately trying to change the rules of the ballot retrospectively is never going to have any weight to it.

Move on, it's done

gotta say I never liked the KD base and seem to remember the amount of ginger in it being ott.   I actually don't use any ginger in my base these days (I seem to recall that's what made it bitter ) and only a small amount in my g/g paste(80/20).

The difference between my madras and my vindaloo

When cooking myself a vindaloo I add/change the following;

Veg ghee or butter ghee if i'm using red meat
Asafoetida
Double the amount of Garlic paste (blended in oil) and  no ginger
Green chilli & coriander paste ( blended in oil )
Hot Chilli powder
black pepper powder
Amchoor
blended toms
fresh Lime

plus the standard fare of
mix powder
methi
blended plum toms

works well for me,  in fact Ill be making it tomorrow

Product Reviews / Re: Lidl 6ltr pressure cooker
January 21, 2016, 11:36 PM
tried my local lidl for this today but found nothing, can't see it on the lidl website either

My old pressure cooker does the job but I'm forever replacing the gasket so another pc would come in handy..

I'll have a drive around locally tomorrow and see if there's any left
