Yes, I have to admit Chewy's 3 hour base is definitely the next base I'll be making, after watching his video demo! I reckon as mentioned by many earlier that sieving does make a lot of difference to the end result leaving it more smooth and velvety.

Just need a pressure cooker now ;D

Hahaha that's quite alright, dinner looks great!

Just noticed this guy has popped up on YouTube 'TheCurryGuy1', sharing some 'apparent' British Indian Restaurant style recipes which should be interesting to watch (and also to see if they mirror anything on here lol)

His base seem's a very unusal orange colour and the thickness of it is unlike anything I've ever seen but each to their own etc...

Seems Julian has posted a new video tonight on using a shortcut to create takeaway style curries -  :

He claims, using this method isn't far off using a base gravy / sauce (Which I would have to try to believe)

Petrolhead that's great that! I was thinking of doing a similar sort of thing but think I will start of the with the folder and wallet way first.  I too download video footage as it always comes in handy when trying to make the recipe exact to what you see rather than copying it step by step off paper :-)

Just read this whole thread from start to finish and it made great reading full of knowledge, different opinions, controversy and more importantly clear passion about curry! ;D
