Ok I know this isnt a main dish but I'm hooked on this stuff, the green chilli pickle they serve in some restaurants with your poppadoms! tastes awesome, really good!

So has anyone got a recipe? Got a load of chilli plants on the go in work so will need to do something with them.

Cheers!

Hi all  ;D I'm getting into the chicken and spinach balti in my local t/a and would like to make one this weekend. I've been looking at Dipuraja's chicken balti and am thinking of adapting that one to use spinach. How does this sound to you experts?

Thanks

Cooking Equipment / Looking at Wok's...
June 15, 2009, 10:53 PM
Hi all, I'm still cooking away quite happily out in the garden with the monster burner producing some good and some not so good curries! Only thing is, I'm still using my old cooking equipment in the way of an alloy wok with a small handle and some smallish spoons. i have no hairs left on my hands by the way...  ;D

So whats the best wok for the money? Seen stuff like this
EBAY WOK

on ebay, is this any good? are there any 'good' and 'bad' woks about?

I value the advice on here  ;)

Just thought I'd recommend my local here as I have had so many good dishes from here in the past two years!  ;D

I go here once, maybe two times a week and its very rare that I have a meal that is less than superb, and those times are only when they use a spare chef! The base they use is the one I would most like to replicate, but they dont let much on although I do sometimes get into the kitchen for a nosey if I bug the manager enough with my questions!

If you do go, check out the chef's specials or connoisseurs choice as these dishes are out of this world! His Jalfrezi (lamb or chicken) is out of this world and I have never managed to match it in any other restaurant I've visited. The garlic chilli chicken nentara is also a dish worth a go! I am working my way through the menu, only found one dish that I personally disliked but thats down to my taste buds  ;D

Staff are courteous, cobra on tap and the prices are good too. Worth a visit!  :D

 ;D Hi!

Well first lesson I have learnt from here is that electric is not the way forward for cooking BIR curry!

So, I need a burner! Where to get one from then? Have been trying ebay etc but only found the following:

This but I'd need to make a stand for the wok
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350186612880

Or this little beauty
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350188630472

But a bit dearer and price is an issue at the moment!

Any other places to look?

Thanks

Hi, what a superb forum from the quick glance I have had!

My name is Paul, I work as an engineer on the local raf base on Anglesey, fixing the jets when they break.. sometimes :)

Anyway, love my indian food from the local restaurant but have been trying to make my own dishes from online recips, some small success but never as good as what I get from the curry house near me! I have had a few tips off the owner, nice guy who puts up with my constant questions on how stuff is done in the kitchen!

Hoping to get some good tips from here and start impressing my guests when they come!

Cheers!
