Lets Talk Curry / A Question of an Author
October 21, 2008, 05:21 AM
Just looking for some input into a certain author. NAOMI GOOD

I first learned curries from my Dad many years ago, and he got started with them while working in Saudi Arabia, and got into BIR cooking while on week long lay overs in London. He was a pilot for Fields Corp.....

So that was the cookbook he brought home to me... Just wanted some opinions on it from the experts.

Supplementary Recipes Chat / Pataks and Sauces
August 16, 2008, 05:07 PM
I have read alot about Pataks brand sauces in here, however I dont see much information on any other brands. Is Pataks sorta the "Standard" for the jarred stuff. I am going to be making a home (scratch) made curry this eve from this site to see the differeance.

Just was wondering, I got on there site and they have alot of varieties and such, and my local Indian supply place called the Spice House has a ton of the stuff, and as we have a large Indian population here I see alot of Indians buying the stuff, although I do admit they do have a HUGE and I mean huge selection of spices.

Just was wondering the feedback, I have only used there Tikka Masala paste, and Curry Pastes.

A question of the premade stuff. There is a small Indian food shop about an hour away from me, they have literally hundreds of premade jarred and packaged sauces. The lady reccomended PATAKS...

I tried a few sauces and LOVE them, however I also like making scratch stuff. Can I get the Curry men and ladies opinions of the premade sauces.

I am new here and I have a question about rice for Curries. My Dad introduced me to JASMINE Rice... and I find that that rice goes SO WELL with ym Curries. Yet I see for the most part people talking about rice yet not specifying the type.

What are your opinions about Jasmine and other rices for Curries.

Just Joined? Introduce Yourself / From the USA
August 12, 2008, 08:06 PM
Hello all just wanted to introduce myself. I am Don and I am from Michigan in the United States.

I love Curries and am in a running battle with my Dad as to who makes the better curry... however I fear we both are rank ameatures when in the company on this web site.

I am interested in learning more about Curries and Indian Food in general, I really strive for the Authentic. And appreciate any help anyone can give me.
