Is there anybody out there?

God I miss the ease of the squeeze.

Maybe now that lockdown restrictions are relaxing, the brewers will get brewing and yeast will be in abundance.

The amount of times I have sent food back because it was bland, too salty, too sweet and have been met with total indifference

If you're sending food back for these reasons then it's no wonder you have been met with indifference. all these things are subjective. If you send food back because, for instance, the chicken isn't cooked, then fine - but one person's salty is another person's not salty enough; one person's sweet is another person's not sweet enough etc.

Personally, I'd have banned you  :like:

Lets Talk Curry / 'National' Brand Spice Mixes

Anyone tried these? I picked up a couple last time I was in an Asian supermarket. Tried the Butter Chicken one last night and it was very nice - quite spicy for a Butter Chicken but very tasty.

First attempt at growing from seed. Cayenne plant in greenhouse is producing many many fruits :)

Jalapeno not quite as prolific but reasonable. Bhut Jolokia has many flowers but not sure if it will have time for fruit to mature and ripen.

Ghost plant below:

My first attempt at growing from seed and the plants (only 5) are pretty healthy. I have them all in the greenhouse except the one I just kept on the windowsill which is a cayenne which I let flower and fruit before the rest.

My possibly stupid question is this:

Do chillies start ripening from the inside? The reason I ask is that I took the first cayenne off tonight (still entirely green on the outside), but upon cutting, it was starting to go orangey on the inside of the flesh. Ripening or rotting?

Got a few hours spare on Friday in Glasgow. Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy spices and other curry-related items?  Preferably in West End.

Bought a small 'jalapeno' chilli plant from a local garden centre in the spring.

Does this look like a jalapeno?

Lets Talk Curry / Chilli Growing Advice
February 07, 2018, 05:24 PM
Having recently moved house and inherited, among other things, a greenhouse, I thought I'd have a wee try at growing some chillies.

Not being a chilli-head, I'm not going to be going for the Vipers/Scorpions/Reapers etc; would just like what traditional Indian recipes refer to as 'green chillies'.

From what I can gather, these would probably be serrano?

Moved house recently and inherited a small garden fish pond. After much Googling, put four goldfish in. Hopefully will survive the winter but anyone with any experience/advice would be appreciated :)

Here is my take on the old Butter Chicken. Put together from a few different recipes......

Have to say it was really nice but a real artery-blocker :)

Received a gift box from said supplier for Fathers Day. Chilli sauce, chilli jam, chilli paste, chilli chocolate?.

Anyone tried any of their stuff? Should I be afraid?
