Pictures of Your Curries / This weekends Cooking
April 28, 2012, 10:48 PM
Hi all. This is the fruits of my labour today.
With the disappointment of not receiving the correct skewers, no Seekh Kebabs today. But I may just make them tomorrow any without the skewers, just using the skewers I got (which are the rubbish thin ones, you all know the ones!!!)...we will see..

Anyway, this is my trio of Lamb (mutton) curries. Cooked the mutton as per Curry2Go eBook instructions and made up some Lamb Stock to go in the curries themselves. Only had a quick taster of each going to enjoy them tomorrow.

Also, got some Blades Tikka marinating in the fridge, so will cook that tomorrow along with the Seekh Kebabs and get some Onion Bhajis out the freezer and that will be our starters.

Anyway, here are the curries...

I will get some more pics on this thread tomorrow with all the starters, and the taste test of the starters! :)

Pictures of Your Curries / My Curries

Ok
So a couple of you guys have been asking for some pictures so here they are.... :)   I thought I had a lot more to be honest......oh well, I will just have to cook some more curry!!

Be kind, I am still very new to using the BIR method and some of these pics do not use it (although they are still very tasty dishes!!!)

Base Gravy - Got this recipe from Real Curry Recipes (link currently down so have not posted) and I think out of the three bases I have tried so far is still the best....

Bombay Potato

Some Curries

Chicken Jalfrezi (using base)

Chicken Kholaprui (Not from Base) - lovely dish

Chicken Madras and Bombay Potato

Pilau Rice (Again, link is down for this one.)  - Lovely rice. Perfect every time!

Kebab (Go on  say what you want  ;D  - they look terrible but they tasted fantastic  8) ) Cooked with Beef Mince

Thai Green Chicken Curry (another beautiful dish not using base)

My Thali (What I would normally eat!! - Cook 3 curries and have them all over 2 days!!)

Hope you like them!

Hello all!

I am so happy to have found this website!!  Hello to everyone, I am Chris and I love to cook curry!!

I love eating and cooking curry!! I have tried cooking curry for the last 10 years or more, and never really found that 'taste' and 'smell' that you get from your local indian restaurant!

Until now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....it was actually "leviteish" YouTube channel which got me started on the BIR route, and, I am sure all you guys know the difference in flavour once you put all the elements togethere is FAN_BLEEPING_TASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I have perfected the Base and some curries I want to learn to make some starters... I have tried many recipes for sheekh kebabs but they always end up looking like *unmentionable*        - Already I have found a recipe on this site which looks awesome... !

Cheers!

Hi All
I have been registered for a few weeks now, but this is my first Intro post!!

Looking around this forum I have found some great recipes. I have tried a few including the base gravy, Madras, bombay potatoes as well as others and have to say......Fantastic!!

I have been enjoying curry in Indian Restaurants/ Takeaways for 10+ years, and trying to cook it myself for about 6 years. The progress I have made in the last 2 months far exceeds the progress I made during those 6 years COMBINED!!!  Always trying this recipe or that recipe. Buying dedicated indian cookbooks which only had (less than) a handful of good recipes in it. Seemed futile... I even gave up for a while thinking my quest was hopeless. Then, I found this website and had an awakening!!!

Now, I am looking forward to looking at the recipes here and getting to know all the (clearly) good Curry Chefs on this Forum and hopefully making my own contributions in the future!

I live in Cardiff, but my favourite Restaurant is near Leyland on the old Liverpool Road called Bangla Fusion.

Cheers
Tongey
