My husband is 40 next month and im hosting a surprise birthday party for him.  I want to cook a huge pot of curry for our guest to tuck into at the end of the night and I was wondering which type of curry and which recipe you would all recommend if you could only cook ONE curry?

I havent actually cooked a curry from scratch off this website as yet, i was meant to try one a few weeks back but due to certain events it wasnt possible.

I dont mind having a trial run to make sure i like it, but i was wondering which recipe is everyones favourite?

I would prefer it to be chicken based but apart from that Im really open to suggestions.

Many thanks

Lets Talk Curry / Can Anyone Name This Curry?
April 17, 2011, 02:59 AM
When i lived in back in the UK, King Balti (Walsall) was my fave restaurant and on their menu was a chicken dish which i loved but cant remember the name of it to try and find a recipe.

It was red, very sweet (not sour in anyway) and began with an 'S'?

Any ideas and also can anyone recommend a recipe for it?

Ive tried to google the place to see if a menu is on line anywhere but it isnt.

Thanks

I thought i would start a thread where we can share what we are cooking each night.

It may give others i.e me  :P some menu ideas.

So for me, Im trying to cook butter chicken with nann bread.  This is my first attempt at a curry from scratch and also the first time i will have made nanns so what this space.  I may also make some oven backed onion bahajis (sp?) as a starter, i have made these before and they work well, and I may try and find an easy rice dish rather then use micro stuff  :o

So whats on your menu tonight?

Have a great weekend all.

Hi All,

I stumbled across this site whilst trying to locate a great curry recipe.

I moved to Oz from the West Midlands 15 months ago and I'm still trying to find a good IR!  So I have decided the only way forward is to cook it myself.

I'm note a great cook but i can follow a recipe and I have time to try and retry things until i get them right.

I may well be asking lots of stupid questions so please be gentle with me.

Great site!

Thanks

Jenk :)
