Well Summer's here(well almost) before I embark on a massive curry feast inspired by the recent lesson I thought I'd give my new oven a try out.On the menu chicken tikka,tandoori chicken and naan bread.

A fantastic bit of curry kit I have to say.The flavour it gave to the food was incredible.Not sure if I've got any hairs left on my arm though,those tandoori chefs make it look so easy,and the thing gets so damn hot.The naan breads went a bit pear shaped(it was my first attempt at them).The mix itself was spot on both in texture and apperance,however by the time I was ready to slap them in it was pitch black in my garden(I'd had a few beers by then).I dropped two in the ashes and the third one was a bit underdone.Never mind,next time I'm sure they'll be perfect.

Great to see someone else at the tandoor game
It's given me so much enjoyment over the last six years
I can't get mine going this weekend (I'm working)
But next weekend definite!
I've lost the odd naan down the middle!
They burn for some time don't they?
The worst thing to fall, was some lamb kebabs, which would not stick to the skewers
They smelt for hours
And surprisingly not very nice
Tandoor forever!

That is a very nice looking bit of kit JB.  Definitely jealous >:(.  It produced some very tasty looking tandoori goods :P :P.  Re the naan bread, i thought it was advised to use the oven  five or six times before cooking naans, as they wouldn't stick :( ??? -  read somewhere.

That tandoori oven does to us curry lovers, what a brand new 50" 3d led tv does to the rest of the male population. I'm not envious one little bit! :'( :'( :'( ;)

That last picture (in particular)... OMG - mouth watering.... fantastic!

Can sympathise about the fallen naan and fallen lamb kebabs too. Even a disintegrated lamb keebab on the lava rock of a gas BBQ can smell for ages too :(

It's very easy to use,like I said brings a whole new dimension flavour wise to tikka/tandoori.Naan breads need a bit of practice.It did say to use the oven four times.I had no problem with them sticking,the problem was I was cooking them in the garden in the dark with too many stellas inside of me!!   Az did actually tell me sometimes the tandoori chef will put kebab meat on pre heated skewers to stop the falling off,although because of the heat you have to be a bit careful.

Hi jb did you have any problem with the clay cracking at all when heating, i ask because of the clay repair you get with the tandoori oven. Really thinking about getting one of these from Spices of India.
