Ive been reading some of your posts... & the effort that some of you guys & girls put in - to finding THAT perfect curry taste, never ceases to amaze me!! You people are curry crazy & just as they say at McDonald's, "I'm lovin it."

I must add though, that one persons idea of a perfectly cooked curry, may? NOT TASTE AS NICE to another... meaning that we will never all agree on one particular perfect formula!!

PS? ? ?McDonald's burgers taste like cardboard.

Everyones got there favorite curry house but they do all have something in common, the "taste"  ;D

I only know of one takeaway that I know of that I would say was crap but I still eat from there when theres no alternative, either way even a really bad curry beats mcdonalds.

Yes I'd agree with that. We can probably all make a delicious madras, but I doubt that they would taste exactly the same. The one thing that the majority of British curry eaters will agree on though is that there is a unique and delicious smell and taste in most curry house curries. It's this that we are endeavouring to copy and it's totally infuriating that we can't do it, which is why the topic comes up so often.

I suffer from S.A.D and have been feeling particularly down this last week. Initially I thought it was because I was cogitating on this problem too much, but then I realised the last week had been particularly dull, weather wise, which was a relief because depression by curry would be particularly SAD! ? ?:D

I never understood why McDonald's was so popular. Can somebody please please tell ?me what is so special about a burger from McD's which hardly has any taste to it. Fair enough if you like their food, but i just can't taste any good quality in their burgers.

Give me a Burger king burger any day - which has a lovely grilled taste & double the amount of salad they give you at McD's. I think people are ?hypnotized ?with the amount of advertising on the telly. Is it cool to be seen at McD's? Let your tastebuds do the judging, rather than coolness ??? over taste!

Well yellowfingers, if my curry turns out to be a "not so good one", then I'm the type to sit down worrying about where i went wrong. I just hate making a dish that went wrong. I'll sulk all night if this happens. So if you think I'm sad, then so be it :D...I'm quite proud in being a curry perfectionist or a good cook in general.

I made a sweet & sour chicken the other day & wasn't happy with it. I couldn't rest until i had perfected it - so the next day, i went out and got all the same ingredients, jotted down on a piece of paper what i thought needed to be added to the recipe & started again. I cooked the dish, & to my delight, the sweet & sour turned out to be almost identical to the take away one i get.

Indian Curries are more complex. The effort you have to put in, to making a good curry, is more so. I prefer an Indian Curry to a Chinese meal any day. That's not to say i eat curry every single day. I like to vary with different types of cuisine. Arabic & Greek food is also delicious.

I can't remember the details but a couple of asian brothers were going to set up a chain of McCurry outlets on the motorway service stations. This was several years ago and I don't drive so I don't know if it succeeded. Is anyone a regular motorway traveller that has seen these curry equivalents of the McBurger chain?

I must admit I do like the taste of a Big Mac, due in large part to the sauce and pickle, etc. My favourite was Wendys before they left London and I also like Burger King, but none of them too often.

Hey George... Listen mate - if you like McDonalds, then fair enough bro. I wouldnt want people to say they liked or disliked em just coz the majority did or didnt enjoy a McD's burger. If you genuinely enjoy their burgers, then fair enough.

Still think they taste like cardboard though! ::)   :D
