I get this mag from my local TA.  They just get the one copy but never read it.  If anyone would like it drop me a pm and I'll pop it in the post. Quite a few good features on the trade.  It seems some TAs are being naughty and are still using chicken stock in their base gravy, for veggie dishes.  :o

Very very sad.  Unlike my wife (1st-generation immigrant of 20 years standing, already on 40% income tax before she left for Abu Dhabi) I am very opposed to the present and previous government's policy on immigration control.  Whilst I am forced to accept that the UK has only finite resources, and that if the entire world were to move here all would starve, I also appreciate that as a nation we have far far more wealth per capita than much of the world, and to insist that that wealth is solely for "us" (i.e., native-born Britons) and to be unwilling to share some of it with those in desperate need, strikes me as selfish in the extreme.  Maybe it's time for CR0 members to launch a "YouGov" petition, and call on the Government to re-think its immigration policy, initially with particular reference to highly skilled foreign nationals with firm offers of employment in the hospitality sector ...

For me the article rams home the reasons why many/most TAs still can't make a half decent curry these days.  Also perhaps highlights the notion that "anyone" can make a TA curry not holding much credibility. 

I looked into those curry college courses when they first came out.  Apparently I was about 30 years too old to enrol on any of them. I would have made a good trainee chef I would.

It's maybe not too late Rob.

With all the wannabe TA chefs on here, there should be plenty of applicants to fill the immigration gap.

Can someone with more time than me create a template CV to allow those who think they can do it apply?

I would be obliged if this whole thread could be removed. This is a forum for curry discussion - not political. There are plenty of places for people to express their political views, but this isn't one of them.

The whole reason for being apolitical is so that one can express the views in which one believes, rather than the views that are espoused by any one political party.

I don't think it's that bad so far and some interesting views have been expressed (even if my brief included the deletion of a whole thread, which it doesn't.)
