the Taz Vs The Pub

So! Being a Monday night we do like to ease ourselves into the week with what we call "Monday Club", an hour at the pub with like minded people who are trying to blot out the horrors of the beginning of the working week!
The problem was that I also really wanted to get a new batch of the Taz base made for a Curry on Tuesday (today) and also for freezing!
Pub?.. Base?... Pub?.. Base?
The answer being both! of course it was simple!
Our local is only 50 feet from our house so why not, I can nip back between drinkies to check on it, set a timer on my phone to get back for the next stage!
So after the initial prepping it was ?everybody into the pool? as certain TV chef would say.
A few minutes went by and slowly the bubbles of heat rose through the ooze, a few at first then more and more!, they became more frequent, the oily pops intensifying as it reached critical mass!
?It?s Alive!? I screamed to the heavens, lightening froze the terror on Igor?s face, cowering in the corner at the unholy brew??. I mean ?its nearly there love!? I shouted into the living room, as the T?uther half got her coat ready for a dash though the rain to alcohol and salvation!
As an estimate, I reckon each drink last us about 20 minutes, so that?s 3 drinks till I need to add the 200g of tomatoes, then 1 more drink till I need to blend and simmer!
So I in my mind I was at least assured of 4 drinks.
Every time my glass was empty I would run back to the house and each time the smell intensified becoming more pungent, on the way back into the pub im sure I carrying a mild odour of garlic, coriander and turmeric with me.
The amazing thing is I wouldn?t even have to re-order the round as on Mondays its ?Mini? who works bar and she would spot me darting through the rain and make sure that our drinks were there on the bar (well I dart as much as a middle aged fat bloke in the rain can!)
After the appox 1h 15 mins it takes to make the Taz base, dilemma do we stay in the pub and risk us getting into a situation where we end up ordering a curry!

Had me on the edge of my seat throughout Pod.
I'm tempted to get my other half to read it but she's glued to an Emmerdale hour special at the minute so I'd best not risk it.

Cheers Podmore.
Very nicely written.
I was utterly engrossed reading of the knife edge struggle between your culinary preparations and the need for social intercourse. ;D
