Hello form Dallas Tx
« on: November 29, 2011, 03:05 AM »
Hi all.
I moved over to Dallas TX from the UK a while back, and after getting really fed up of paying for the watery stew they call "curry" around here,  i decided to break out the pots n pans and go through my limited recipes i had amassed to hopefully start recreating the curry's something like those i know i love from some of my favourite restaurants back home in the UK.
Found this web site while searching google for UK curry recipes and am looking forward to start making new and tasty dishes and also share my favourite recipes with you guys.

Hi Brian and welcome :)

My girlfriend lives near Tampa in Florida and after our ventures to Indian restaurants in the USA (well Chicago and the Tampa area) there are only about 2 I would recomend to anyone, the rest as you say are bland watery attempts, more like traditional home Indian cookery with an attempt to spice it up.

However, we have found some really good Indian local grocery shops near Tampa and she now has all the spices, and I have taught her to make superb Indian BIR food in her home which attracts loads of friends round for dinner. On a regular basis she now makes Chicken Tikka and her favourite is the Garlic Chilli Chicken :)

You have found the best forum in the world for sharing (BIR) recipes and Ideas and it's all totally free unlike some other forums and websites.

There is a wealth of experience here and everyone is always willing to help out, so if you need any help just ask...

Have fun with you're curries.... :)
