I'm thoroughly p***** off with children's food in tiny portions.
A Sinhalese friend said exactly that to the waiter when we had lunch in an Indian restaurant in Bromley (Kent) some many years ago : Suhail took one look at the pilau rice, and said loudly "That is a child's portion : take it away and bring me a man's portion." ! Exit flustered waiter, stage left. I followed his example some years later in the New Forest, where "nouvelle cuisine" had just caught on. I was brought a delightful meal in the pub/inn where I was staying, but the portion of chips (I am sure they had some far posher name) was minuscule. When the waiter asked politely "Is there anything else I can get you, Sir", I responded (equally politely) "Yes please : another portion of chips, about twice the size of that one !".
P.S. Nothing "New Indian Cuisine" about Lahore One : that is Lahori food for Lahoris !
