What Pan

Sorry to labour this topic but after quite a bit of searching on the web, I think i've found the perfect pan. They also stock quite a few other items found in BIR's too. I might even be tempted by the LPG Burner they have.

The wife is gonna kill me. lol ;D

Axe I have the 31cm version of this pan and it's very good , my previous pan was a 26cm ' Omelet type pan but it was to easy to make a mess of the Hob when stirring the Curry vigorously

Is ?15.54 a good price for one of those pans?

Only asking because I was just going to get one until I saw the final price with VAT and delivery added.

I shall be ordering two of the 24cm pan. The VAT and 6.00GBP is a small price to pay for the 'right' pan. 

Emin, I currently use a similar sized 30cm pan for making curries. But this I found to be far too big for single portions. I then tried a 20cm pan I have and that proved much better but not quite big enough. I do admit it caused alot more mess though. The 24cm pan is the closest representation of pans I have seen in the IG.

Know what you mean Axe a single portion looks a bit lost in there,probably something between 26-30cm with high sides would be perfect.

Not in stock though are they, 'Usually dispatched within 2 to 5 weeks'?

That's what put me off getting one from there, because from experience with Amazon, that doesn't guarantee you'll actually get one.



Not really sure why I want to get one anyway, I've had perfectly good results and am very happy using my Heavy duty 24cm copper bottomed Stainless Steel pan. : ;D

Horses for courses I guess, you pays your money and takes ya chance. 

The only other thing I can add, which I feel is quite relevant at least for me anyway, is that with a smaller pan the cooking oil goes further. 1 Chefs spoon of oil in a large pan is barely enough. This also equates to the amount of base used too. You need less to cook the ingredients and should therefore end up with a more desirable curry, if that makes sense.
