Topic: Daddy, your turning into Homer Simpson!

I thought i'd share a couple of funny moments we had over the weekend. Well, it made us (the family) laugh at the time anyway.

Before I go on, I should explain that I am what you might consider to be a portly fellow and not one to shy away from the odd beer or two, or even the chance of a freshly cooked ring doughnut at the seafront.  So if that doesn't set the scene, I don't know what will. ;D

Anyway, as some of you know, I set about on Saturday to make up the Taz base in preparation of the Bombay Aloo tests that evening. A rather messy episode as I tried to get all the ingredients into my not big enough pan! After several moments of 'quick take the lid off' and cleaning up the ensuing mess, turmeric was starting to leave it's tell tale marks.

So with base made, I then set about the challenge of making the Bombay Aloo dishes that evening, along with a nice chicken tikka. This went well and by the second or third dish, I was getting into the swing of things. Base was spitting everywhere and it was a constant battle to keep everything looking vaguely clean. After all six dishes were complete we sat down to mark and enjoy the results. After a few beers and writing up our findings, we turned in for the night.

The next morning my eldest daughter asked me to take her to a  birthday party gathering in town. With the wife at work (care assistant), I agree and with my two daughters in tow, we set off. It was at that point that I notice the incredible yellow stains of turmeric left all over my fingers from yesterdays cooking. To which I exclaimed "look at the state of my hands!" My eldest daughter rallied an immediate response "Daddy, your turning into Homer!" To which I simply replied "Doh!" which left us all in fits of laughter.

Later that evening we are all sat at the dinner table having enjoyed roast pork, with spirits high, I tell the wife about today's Homer incident. With which she literally burst out in fits of short wheezy laughter, a fact that my eldest had spotted and responded with, "Mummy, now your turning into Marge!" As you can imagine, the fits of laughter roared on.

So which of the following is the moral of the story?

• Where gloves when cooking curry
• By a bigger pan to make base
• Go on a diet
• Stop drinking beer
• Stop making curries
• Stop the kids from watching the Simpons
• Go on a diet
• There is no moral

In the immortal words of Homer Simpson "Donuts. Is there anything they can't do?"   ;D

Not so sure I like some of the morals though

Curry & Beer is starting to make me nervous about 'moobs' too

Why is it that so many things that taste great have so many bad side affects?

Yup Axe I think all of your list contributes to the moral of the story but what would be the point! Remove them all and there'd be no fun!!
