I so pity the quizmaster
Why is that, Garp ?  Are you planning to attend and be as obnoxious at the quiz as you are on this forum ?

Lol! Love it Phil. I too am throwing away my masks and going back to living a normal life after hearing my husband has myeloma, we've had our jabs and refuse to spend the rest of our days hiding away from life, obviously when he has stem cell treatment and his immune system is at rock bottom we'll be more careful but until then believe life is for living!

We had our first curryfest since the start of the pandemic last week, and my enthusiasm bubbled over to the point that the table was groaning under the weight, but a mixture of friends and neighbours got through most of it with a little left over to give my son 3 lunches.

Thank the heavens the Covid restrictions are lifted and we can return to the new normal.

Tempest! Wow! I have read and reread this many times... I wish I was there!

For the neutral readers here, can we lose the Off-Topic posts/sniping please (including this line. not something I like seeing everyday!)

Onions should be able to move all OT replies to the "off-topic replies" thread that I set up for that purpose.

We had our latest Curryfest last night.
My Youngest daughter and her partner, his dad and stepmom, my ex-wife, my current wife and me.
started with
baked onion bhaji,
pea and potato cakes,
Dishoom’s spicy lamb chops
Kricket’s Keralan fried chicken

Mains consisted of
pig cheek Vindaloo,
mutton Rogan Josh,
Pakistani beef kofta,
chicken in black pepper,
paneer jalfrezi,
spicy roasted fish,

Sides were
oven roast aloo gobi,
chickpea pilau,
house black dhal.

Desert was vanilla and cardamom rhubarb panna cotta.

Daughter and Partner announced they are expecting their second child in November which lifted the evening as we lost my Mum on the 22nd March

Gobsmacked.  No other word can adequately capture my reaction to your ability to turn out so many different dishes at one time.  Well done, T63, but sorry to learn of your mum's death.

Thanks Phil for your kind words regarding mum.
As for turning out so many dishes most are precooked and just require heating through, or a 20 to 30 minute simmer to finish off. I use the cast iron Le Creuset Balti pans to finish them off and then serve in the same to retain heat. But I had to admit defeat this time and the stir fried veg never got cooked.
