Four curries for a special day
« on: October 29, 2015, 08:34 PM »
I have my parents coming over tomorrow in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. They asked me if I could make a few curries for them so I made these today.

Butter Chicken

Chicken Tikka Masala

Chicken Madras

Chicken Vindaloo

I will garnish them all tomorrow after re-heating them.

The individual photos really don't show the difference in the four curries so here's a group photo.

Left to right Madras, Vindaloo, Butter Chicken and CTM.

Those curries look perfect, SR. Nice consistency and colour. I'd be happy to get tore in to those curries and I'm sure your folks will be equally delighted with your endeavours.

Thanks Naga, I just hope they don't like the vindaloo too much so that there is some left for tea.

Well done SR - your group photo clearly shows up the differences in colour and consistency of the sauces.  Never mind the garnish, I'd just love to get tucked in to each dish and sample it to within an inch of its life!
Best
Al

Thanks Al. I did just sample a little of each but it was so hard not to sample them a little more later. Knowing that they are lurking in the fridge means I really have to show a lot of self restraint.

Lovely looking curries SR.... Im drooling!
Which recipe did you use for the butter Chicken?

Im cooking for about 12 this weekend and the butter chicken caught my eye.
Im hoping to get all the cooking done tonight.
Ive got some frozen chicken that I had marinated for 24 hrs beforehand, skewered up ready for the oven.
Cant be arsed to get the tandoor fired up  ::)
But then again I might  :-\

Regards

Mick

Keep your hands out of the fridge tonight, and have great weekend.

Thanks Mick. The recipe is the curry2go from Julian. I have never tried butter chicken in a restaurant before so I have nothing to compare it to but for me it's quite nice, and it has a little bit of heat too so it's quite different to CTM.

Thanks Geoffbrick, I was very tempting to keep testing them but I did manage and they really enjoyed all of the curries, including the vindaloo which was a surprise as they haven't had one before and they didn't even seem to break out into a sweat, must have been too mild for them heheheheh. I hope you manage to recover all your photos.
