I didn't start the day intending to make a curry for dinner, but as luck would have it, I was browsing through Mick Crawford's 2nd BIR Style Cooking ebook and his South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken recipe jumped out at me. I've got a couple of versions of this dish stashed away, but I'd never tried Mick's take on the curry.
On the side, I cooked Mick's Mushroom Fried Rice (using SP's pilau rice recipe) and threw together some of his Mint Yoghurt Sauce to dress the salad. Both of those recipes are from Mick's 1st BIR Style Cooking ebook.

Verdict? Very nice indeed! Both me and my good lady wife wolfed the curry down and these recipes are now firmly on the favourites list. It worked out very well and had a nice, light consistency and plenty of taste without being overcomplicated. Just what I needed after last Friday's disappointment.

The Mushroom Fried Rice and the raita were both pretty decent too and complemented the curry nicely. Another two recipes printed off for the ever-burgeoning folder!
Note: A wee confession - I didn't put any fresh chillies into the curry out of respect for my good lady wife's delicate tastebuds, but I did add a couple of generous teaspoons of Mr Naga to mine once everything was plated up. I think it would have tasted better with the fresh chillies, but hey ho, beggars can't be choosers!
I should also mention that Mick's curry recipes specifies the addition of butter ghee. It's not something I keep around the place as I was put off it a long time ago when making
