I actually started off with this book as my first venture into the world of curry making. I never did find any of the recipes came close to "the taste" or "the smell" infact they were as far from a BIR that I have came across. I think the recipes are to busy with to many tastes and your palate just gets a bit lost with all the different flavours. It is probably more like authentic indian recipes than anything else. If you are searching for "the taste" im afraid this book isnt the one for you. There are some great recipes which come within inches of the taste on this forum. This is all just my humble opinion. I would be interested to know if anyone else has tried it and what your thoughts on it were.

Thanks for putting this one to bed Will. I thought I would post it to see if anyone could maybe pick out an ingredient etc rather than using it as a full blown recipe.  ;)
I was disappointed with the book when I looked at it after seeing the amazing recipes here at cr0  ::)

cr0 rules and leads the way  :D

Hi Everyone,

I have been away from the site for some time now and back this morning for a recipe for tonight's meal. I found this posting immediately and amazed to find the book finding its way on here.

I too have used this book since it was published and while their are great recipes in it it none of them have ever produced the smell or the taste.

The book was great at its time especially for those of us who lived in the Glasgow area and who regularly frequented and still do this amazing resteraunt.

Looking forward to digging into the site again so keep up the good work one and all and happy new year.

Hungry Panpot.
