It was George who started the thread.

And Phil , would the date difference not be the time zone/server time whatever on google as opposed to the forum time?

Quite possibly.  But my recollection is that the thread started with a question, not with a statement.  George's post (now #1) would not seem to me to be a thread-opener but more of a response.

** Phil.

So, Phil; first it wasn't George who started the thread, now it is quite possibly George who started the thread, what next? I expect better of you, Phil. Put your prejudice aside and look at the facts......and don't vote UKIP  ;)

The "Quite possibly" was in response to the text quoted, not to the parts intentionally omitted.  Thus I was agreeing with the time explanation rather than with the hypothesis that George started the thread.  As for UKIP, I can't stand racists in any guise -- they are no better than the National Front as far as I am concerned.

So George started the thread.....am I correct?

We will discover the answer to that only when the real first-poster wakes up and asks "Where the ******* hell has my post gone ??? ??? !!!".

This thread appears to have been edited (a number of posts are missing) but there is no note to indicate when they were expunged or why ...

I made a post a couple of days ago stating that I was going to remove all the off topic posts, starting with Naga's. Nobody protested that the whole thread should be maintained, as really valuable material for long-term-archiving, in effect. So I went ahead. And now people are complaining and coming up with conspiracy theories, like a suggestion that I removed the original OP post and made my first contribution #1.

We can't have it all ways. Either, we are prepared to remove material which I don't think reflects well on the forum, or we're not. Many people suggest there should be MORE moderation than my minimal laissez-fair input until yesterday. Then, when I exercise a bit more moderation, the same people complain. All this is Naga's fault. When he weighed in to question why anyone would be interested in making Big Mac special sauce, because the whole burger tastes like cardboard, it was like a green light to move from half-decent contributions on the subject of special sauce, to dumbed-down, and argumentative posts.

George's post is dated

All this is Naga's fault. Thats twisting the facts George, He actually said
Quote
McDonalds. Cardboard baps with cardboard burgers, moistened by mayonnaise.

Give me a Scottish  morning roll with Lorne sausage and ketchup any day!

With no mention to special sauce, just an opinion on their burgers (which I share)

The argumentative posts then started with your post

Quote
Wouldn't it be better if you kept such opinions to yourself? Why post such opinions on a thread which clearly isn't to your taste? It would be a bit like me posting my opinion on a pop artist I don't like, despite the artist having millions of fans.

Everyone's tastes are different. You may be missing out if it's simply beyond your 'capacity' to enjoy McDonalds' food and drinks.

Personally I would now delete the whole thread as its now not a true reflection of what was actually said.

Don't try to shift the blame for detailing this thread onto me! I know its hard to break bad habits, but you must try harder.

I have an archive copy of the entire, original thread, and I can quote exactly what was said by me and by others. So you may wish to reconsider attributing your statement, "All this is Naga's fault. When he weighed in to question why anyone would be interested in making Big Mac special sauce...". You may also wish to reconsider some of your other statements.

This thread was derailed by no one other than you. Just as you continually derail threads for reasons best known to yourself.

Did no one ever tell you your sins will find you out?

Perhaps we can sweep it under Phil's carpet where he hides his UKIP manifesto and Thai Bride Monthly magazine collection......this will probably be moderated. But I'm sick of the egos whingeing on and on and on and on and on and on and on at each other.

There are plenty of people posting great recipes and pictures on here at the moment. For instance podmore's  recent post.

Get a grip children  :P

The completely predictable result of putting a lunatic in charge of the asylum. Still, probably helped boost the page clicks for a while so job done.

Could you possibly post the original first post please, verbatim ?
