As part of my quest to find new recipes, I decided to try some Chicken Tikka & Bombay Aloo Pasties.
My partner who is a fantastic pastry chef made her spectacular pastry and we added some Turmeric for colour, some toasted Cumin seeds and some Chilli Flakes.
For the filling we first of all added some caramalised onions with finely sliced fresh chilli, then a layer of Chicken Tikka which was tossed in some Tikka Masala sauce to make it moist, then alongside that we added some specifically made Bombay Aloo where the potato pieces were made into small cubes, then a sprinkling of freshly chopped Coriander.
The pasties were then folded and egg washed and cooked in an oven at 180C for about 20 minutes.
We put these out on the counter at lunchtime yesterday and could not keep up demand. After about 65, we ran out of ingredients and had to call it a day.
The possibilities of fillings for these are endless and make a fantastic Street Party food or any kind of party snack when friends are round.
