tonight's oil
« on: March 02, 2013, 11:17 PM »
Tonight's tea was compound for a change. I was a little tired of never having naan or a starter to go along with it unless ordering everything from the TA. So I called the local takeaway and in 40 mins until it was delivered, I kicked off a curry and rice, which I am quite proud of taste wise!

The meal

Garlic Chilli Chicken using CA's base

Egg peas pilau fried rice

Chicken Pakora from local TA

Peshwari Naan from local TA

Post-mortem

Left over oil.

How did you find your meal tonight? I hope you don't find my following comment offensive, but I wouldn't eat what you have posted. I hope it was just a digital camera falsehood but even the TA naan and pakora looked bad. ???

Not at all Axe, I can handle good criticism!

The meal was quite tasty, but looks can be deceiving. The pakoras were indeed not great and hence why I didn't eat more than one. The naans were not fresh enough (i.e takeaway is 5mins walking distance and the delivery took 40-45 mins, but they didn't seem like re-heated or anything of that nature. It wasn't laziness, but trying to get everything together at around the same time.) The rice got a bit mushy, but was extremely tasty! Other than that, I don't see the big issue?

I think we have all been guilty of a mushy rice travesty, I know I have! Some can be rescued and some can't. The amount of oil in your curry seems far to excessive though.

As long as you enjoyed it, is all that matters. ;)

I gotta say, the excessive oil was an accident (handling a 5litre bottle over a pan) though it's one of those accidents that you don't really think too much when the food tasted so great! :)
