I have to believe that with many women, there seems to be some internal decoding or translation going on, along the lines of;

Man = Relays innocent, interesting or humerous statement
Woman = Scans through "blah" to identify what man has done wrong and chastise accordingly.

Well they obviously bought it in Tesco, or Asda, or Aldi, or Waitrose, or Sainsbury's, or Morrissons, as they have all been caught out by their suppliers and the public didn't notice for years(?).
No doubts it does happen on a small scale and in the more disreputable areas, but It sounds quite like scaremongering TV, being the staple diet of the Beeb nowadays, aligned with the mirror being the most untrustworthy rag around.

Just as well the takeaway owners weren't Tories, or they would have really gone to town.

I don't really understand Curryhells warning against the Glasgow base, as, having made it half a dozen times now, I find it gives me a very similar dish to the SNS/Saffron base, but is just a little sweeter, richer tasting and most importantly, very consistent.
I found the Zaal and a few other bases to be very different to my "Southern" tastes, than the Glasgow base has been.
