Pictures look fantastic, I`ll be ordering this book soon to try some of the recipes out. Much criticism has been said over this book on certain recipes, but surely that`s the reason we use these curry making  websites?" to try and get a close to the BIR recipes as we can.? and make positive suggestions as to make them better? not to slag people off for trying to assist in this forum.

I`ll have a go at that and see if i can get close to the factory made products. If not, then i`ll stick to the ready made ones to save time.

Welcome to the site, you will not be disapointed on the recipes posted on here, as some of them are the real deal.
Just go through the sections and have a good read first on the recipes and the debates of the members, you will find really good base recipes to get you started, then its onto the main dish.

Looking a one of the Tandoori/Tika Recipes, i`ve notice that forum members seem to add ready made Pastes to their recipes.
Has anyone got any suggestions on how we can make these with all the spices that we will probably have in our own spice cupboards. I know this might be a daft question?" but its worth a try...I read somewhere in the forum that adding Tamarind to Tandoori Masala mix, might just be the key!.

I`ll try one of the Tandoori Spice Masala`s and add Tamarind to see if i can get some results to the taste of the ready made product.

Hi to all,
I have been using this forum for a few months now and i must say that its one of the best i have came accross online (probably THE best).
I have tried a few recipes and i must admit that they turned out excellent. After reading through some of the recipe debates, you`s guy`s n Gals are really serious about getting these recipes as close to BIR`s as possible.
I am based in Glasgow, and as you may know that the Glaswegian`s do like their curry`s.
Top notch website, and cracking forum on trying to get the real BIR recipe`s as we all like them.

I have tried this recipe a few times now and its really the real deal. But surely this site is to find recipes that can be made without adding ready made marinades!!, ,
Perhaps the restaurants need to speed things up on a Friday/Saturday evenings, and using ready made marinades helps them??
have used C.A`s Tika masala mix and i found it really good,  So has anyone any suggestions on how to emulate Pataks marinades, I think i remember CA saying to add Tamarind to tika spice mix.
I will try this myself and  hopefuly post good results, or Pataks Pastes win.

Making the pakora mix, you can mix up just the spices and gram flour without the veg being added, that will allow you to make individual veg pakora if you wish, thats the way i do it.
Adding chopped onions to the last of the mix with some par boiled potatoes cut into small cubes.
Incase guests don`t like mixed veg pakora?

I do like cooking spicy foods, this recipe i`ve had for ages and its great for BBQ`s especially using cut chicken fillets on skewers.
Another little hint...If you want to add another food colouring to the mix....split the mix into two bowls and add red in one yellow in the other, that`ll give you a bit of colour contrast on the skewers.
As for being my best dish.....its close...i`ll post a great curry recipe soon and you can try that.
